Guy Sebastian, Australian singer-songwriter and judge on The X Factor, recently completed a stunning makeover of his holiday home on the picturesque NSW South Coast with help from Freedom Kitchens & Caesarstone.

Guy collaborated with Freedom Kitchens to meet the ambitious brief of creating a practical yet stylish kitchen which would take full advantage of the gorgeous panoramic ocean views – ideal for entertaining or weekend escapes with his wife Jules and baby Hudson James.

The internal structure of the home was knocked down to integrate the kitchen and living space into one seamless, streamlined area which would become the main focus of the renovation.

“Walls were knocked out to make the living space one streamlined open living, cooking, dining area. That created a lot of pressure on getting the kitchen a hundred percent right!”

“We had to work the design around two structural poles so it had to have some kind of convenient workflow when it came to cooking too. Of course it had to look modern and slick too – tick, tick, tick!”

Guy approached his renovation as an investment, not cutting any corners to ensure the final result was not only both beautiful and practical, but also add value to the property.

“I guess with any renovation there’s always areas where you know it’s wise to invest in quality and others where you can compromise. I feel we approached the whole kitchen as something to really invest in so we didn’t really “skimp” on anything.”

“We definitely wanted to include Ceasarstone benchtops as they are such a quality brand. While there are some cheaper alternatives around, we wanted to go with the trusted name.”

Guy eventually chose a striking combination of Caesarstone® Oyster and Organic White in the form of an L-shaped island bench which he loves as it just “screams communal”.

“Our Freedom Kitchens designer nailed it with the L-shape bench top and incorporating the varying levels and colours in the benchtops.”
