Georgia Ezra's Exotic Abode

Georgia Ezra, director of GABBE Interior design renovates her own home with her husband Richie Morris. Purchasing a 1920’s semi mid June 2015, the husband and wife duo undertook and managed the complete transformation of the existing dwelling into an exotic family abode.

Creating a space that transported the family of the streetscape into their own escape was at utmost importance for Georgia. She concentrated on specific unique and exclusive detailing throughout. Custom designed joinery, incorporating Cane and laser cut engraving and designs along with custom handmade european french doors are some of her favourite features throughout the house.

Georgia decided to reclaim all of the art rails, timber skirting, door frames doors and timber flooring from the original architecture of the home..using the bones of the pre-existing space and bringing it back to life!

A treasure hunter and market-maven at heart, Georgia curated a cultural and exotic home, piecing together references from India, Morocca, Bali, Vietnam, Australia, Israel ultimately resulting in an exclusive and modern meets mediterranean look and feel.

Tiles of Ezra have been used heavily throughout my home. An earthy handmade product which is hugely responsible for the overall experiential design I have created. What I love most about Tiles of Ezra – Zellige Moroccan mosaics, is the connection back with the earth, providing a result which is far more special and grounding than a mass produced tile.

The Tiles of Ezra products allow for the sustainability of Moroccan Zellige craft and artisan work, a tradition that has been around for centuries. By bringing these stunning pieces into my home I have not just integrated beautiful tiles yet ultimately I have created surfaces of art.
