With over 15 years combined experience in the building and architectural industries, brothers Dane and Tommy Kasunic, head up a talented team who pride themselves on being different and creating unique buildings by pushing the boundaries.

Environmental awareness is an integral part of this practice’s culture as it evolves to meet the challenges of the future. And this focus is highlighted in their latest project, the Clay Street Eco Haus, which has been credited with an 8 star energy rating in accordance with the BERSPro second generation energy rating software. The BERSPro computer program is a powerful tool that is used to simulate and analyse the thermal performance of Australian houses in climates ranging from Alpine to tropical. Considering the Canberra climate pushes both of these extremes, it was critical for the house design to respond to these through the use of specialized materials and non-conventional construction techniques.

Recycling and cost saving products were also a focus to reduce the carbon footprint of the home resulting in a more sustainable outcome.

The 8 star rating was carried out internally by Innovative Architecture and audited by local specialists. Houses in the ACT are required to meet a minimum rating of 6 stars, as part of the approval process.

Caesarstone® is committed to its global collection program utilizing reclaimed material content from first grade off cuts in selected Caesarstone® white colours. Recycled stone constitutes up to 42% of the finished material, creating a modern terrazzo aesthetic in 2 stunning colours, Mosaici Carbone – classic black & white and Mosaici Marrone – rich brown & white.

Like the original Caesarstone® surface, Mosaici is stain, crack, scratch, chemical and heat resistance, being the perfect choice for a carefree kitchen or bathroom and projects which have environmental objectives.
